About Dr Yasmine Olabi
I’m Dr Yasmine Olabi, a Specialist Paediatric Clinical Psychologist. I support children and teenagers whose physical health difficulties are closely linked with stress, anxiety, or emotional distress.
I have particular expertise in working with chronic conditions, gastrointestinal difficulties, persistent pain, oncology diagnoses, and medically unexplained symptoms, among others. My work supports both young people and their families to reengage with daily life, including school, social activities, and independence.

My approach is evidence-based and collaborative, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative and Metacognitive approaches, alongside compassion-focused and solution-focused work. I tailor this to each young person and family, with a focus on practical, meaningful change.
Services Offered

Gut-Brain & Medically Unexplained Symptoms
Support for young people experiencing physical symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, cyclical vomitting, rumination, or bowel difficulties where investigations may be ongoing or inconclusive. Work focuses on understanding the mind-body connection and reducing fear, monitoring, and avoidance.
Anxiety & Emotional Difficulties
Support for children and teenagers experiencing anxiety, low mood, or stress, including school, friendships, and exam pressure. Focus on building coping, confidence, and emotional understanding.
Anxiety Linked to Physical Symptoms
Psychological support for children and teens whose anxiety is closely tied to bodily sensations, food, school attendance, or fear of symptoms worsening.
Support for Parents and Adults
Guidance for parents supporting a child or teenager with physical health difficulties, including managing reassurance, uncertainty, and day-to-day challenges. Adult psychological support is also available for managing stress, health-related concerns, and adjustment difficulties, where this complements wider family work.
